La Déesse – "The Goddess"
This famous play on words gave birth to one of the greatest icons of automotive engineering and design of the 1950s, better known as the Citroën DS.
Decades ahead of its time in terms of innovation and technology, many features that are now standard in modern automobiles had their origins in the DS.
Designed by the sculptor Flaminio Bertoni, it was unveiled at the 1955 Paris Motor Show and remained virtually unchanged throughout its 20-year production run.
Countless appearances in film and popular culture turned "The Goddess" into a true legend.
To this day, it remains one of the most beautiful automobiles ever created.
